NWACC Teaches broad base of nursing knowledge
Northwest Arkansas Community College’ s Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing provides students with a broad base of nursing knowledge, and prepares graduates for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses( NCLEX-RN) and to function as Registered Nurses( RN).
Graduates who earn an RN license are prepared to provide client care at the beginning staff nurse level. Those who wish to pursue further education and / or a nursing specialty will have the necessary knowledge base to advance their professional career.
Program Options Track I Traditional- Benton County- This nursing program begins in the fall and runs through four traditional semesters- fall, spring, fall and spring. Summer semester excluded.
Track I Traditional- Washington County- Located at NWACC-Washington County, this track begins in the fall and runs through four traditional semesters- fall, spring, fall and spring. Clinicals are conducted on nights and weekends at Washington Regional with the exception of pediatrics and mental health.
Track II Accelerated- Benton County- This nursing program begins in the summer and runs through four consecutive semesters- summer, fall, spring and summer.
Track II Accelerated- Washington County-Located at NWACC- Washington County, track begins in the summer and runs through four consecutive semesters- summer, fall, spring and summer.
LPN / Paramedic to RN Bridge- Begins in the spring and runs through three traditional semesters- spring, summer and fall.
Practical Nursing Application- The Practical Nursing program begins in the spring and runs through three semesters – spring, summer, and fall. Up to 16 qualified students are accepted into this program.
NWACC’ s nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing( ACEN) and approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
